My Unforgettable Experience at Tinter Battles 2023

In 2023 I became the first female trainer in Tinter Battles history. I'm still not entirely sure how to write about that without it sounding bigger than it felt walking in that day — but it was a real room, a real competition, and a milestone that hadn't happened before.

Twenty years in a shop gets you ready for a lot of things. It doesn't necessarily get you ready to be the first anyone at something. I went in the same way I go into everything — do the work in front of you, correctly, and let that speak.

This trade has long assumed it's a man's trade. It isn't. Success in this trade isn't limited by gender — both women and men can excel equally, and I built this academy to be a welcoming space for both, because that's the room I wish I'd walked into twenty years ago.
